Late Summer Weddings

Brides used to shy away from July and August, afraid that these months would be too hot and humid for weddings.  But more and more brides are tempted by the gorgeous backdrops of these late summer months.  Autumn often brings unpredictable New England weather full of gloomy clouds and rain.  The brightness and cheer that an outdoor summer wedding brings is unforgettably breathtaking!  This wedding at the DoubleTree Bedford Glen, MA is a perfect example.  Congratulations to Jessica and Chris!

Brides - wedding moments

When choosing a photographer, please remember that the wedding will be photographed not from your perspective as the bride and groom, but from the perspective of a guest, your Aunt, your mother's dearest friend, your college roommate!  Your photographer needs to be able to capture all the moments of your wedding day - even those moments you can't see at the time.  Your Grandfather dancing with your niece, a silly moment between young cousins - these peripheral connections can sometimes become the warmest moments that make it into your wedding photo album.

Next Gen photographers know how to seek out these carefree, unguarded moments of joy, captured seemingly by accident.  This is a skillset is a natural gift - 10 or 20 years of experience in the field can't make up for this essential photographer's instinct - an eye for moments ABOUT to happen.  The shutter clicks - and the magic is captured!

Westin Walthm - Elegance and Style!

The next stop on our ballroom tour of Boston is the easily accessible Westin Waltham - the elegance of a Westin/Starwood property with one of the largest capacity ballrooms in the area!  Next Generation Images photographers captured the grace and sophistication of the room with flowers by Madison Floral!
Keeping the background out of focus creates a romantic feel

Thanks to Natalie Laney from Madison Floral www.madisonfloral.com for coordinating this shoot and Kate Schaefer of the Westin Waltham for hosting!

Phillips Academy Skating Competition

Next Generation Images photographers were priviledged to be photographing the young athletes at the Phillips Academy Basics Skills Figure Skating Competition this past weekend.

NGI photographers captured the action as these skaters competed in everything from beginner moves to more advanced routines to music with jumps and spins!  The ages ranged from 3 years old to teens.  The day was complete with awards ceremonies for the skaters with gold, silver and bronze medals.  It was as exciting for the family members and skaters alike as if this were an Olympic competition!

Unique Bouquet Idea

Here's an interesting and unique wedding day idea: consider a gathered bouquet!  As the bride walks down the aisle, she "gathers" clusters of her bouquet from special friends and family along the way.  So fun, right?  Here are a few shots of a bride who chose to do a gathered bouquet-  we were lucky to capture such a fun way of incorporating the couple's loved ones.

Above: The small bouquet that the bride Rita begins with.  You could also start with just a single flower.
